Bishop Hurley Announces:

Welcome Scholarships for Catholic School Students

The Welcome Scholarship fund is a new program open to any student not previously enrolled in a Catholic school of  the Saginaw Diocese, regardless of religious affiliation or household income. The scholarship is being funded by a generous $100,000 contribution from the Saginaw-based Wolohan Family Foundation , with a match by the Diocese.

The Diocese will offer $1,000 scholarships for high school students; $750 for grades 1-8; and $500 for kindergarten, and has pledged to provide additional funds to ensure every request is met. For more information on this and other financial support for current Catholic school students, contact the Office of Catholic Schools at 989-797-6651.

Those interested in applying for a new student scholarship may visit the Welcome Scholarship page of the diocesan website. There are 13 Catholic schools in the 11 county Diocese, which this year are educating nearly 2,100 students.

Praying With Scripture

bible

Perhaps this is the year you would like to join us on Thursday to spend some time in prayer reflecting on Scripture. It’s hard to believe that this begins our 8th year. This gathering of men and women from all parts of Ave Maria Parish meet in parishioners’ homes and pray with the Scripture readings for the coming Sunday. We find it enriches our experience of the Liturgy of the Word at Mass on Sunday and offers a rich experience of being “A House Church,” much like those of the early Christians.

Please consider joining us. We are always delighted to see new faces.

When: Thursday at 2:00 pm

Where: Please call for this week’s location….You’ll receive a schedule at the first meeting you attend if you decide to continue.

For more information or directions, please call 810-622-0671

Hope you can join us for an enriching evening with the Word of the Lord!

All are Welcome!
